Endorsements

• Athens Banner-Herald
  In an October 22 Editorial, The Athens Banner-Herald endorsed Heidi in the race for Athens Mayor. According to the editorial:
  
  "When she came into office in 2002, Athens-Clarke County Mayor Heidi Davison had a clear agenda....Now, four years later, Davison can point to a clear record of accomplishment regarding that agenda, an agenda that has served this community well. And that's why she deserves another four years in office.....Davison is clearly the best choice for mayor of Athens-Clarke County"
  
  And on December 1, The Athens Banner-Herald renewed its endorsement of Heidi for the runoff election:
  
  "There's no reason for the Athens Banner-Herald's editorial board to modify its original endorsements in the race for Athens-Clarke County mayor....Thus, incumbent Mayor Heidi Davison retains the newspaper's endorsement for the Dec. 5 runoff election"
  
  
• Flagpole
  In his October 11 column titled Elect Heidi Again, Flagpole Editor and Publisher Pete McCommons said:
  
  "Mayor Davison gets it. She understands our Athens. She is a part of it. She shows up downtown and everywhere when her mayoral presence is needed for some benefit or project, but she’s also there because she knows our town and enjoys it. She appreciates Athens for what it is and for what it can become...."
  
  
• Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin
  

  

  Heidi was honored to receive the endorsement of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, who stated:
  
  “Heidi Davison has shown leadership, commitment and vision as mayor. Under her watch, Athens has become a community of strong and healthy neighborhoods. Along with being an effective mayor for the people of Athens, Mayor Davison is recognized across the state for bringing diverse groups to the table to find solutions to complex challenges"
  
  
• Heidi has also received the endorsement of The Athens Grow Green Coalition, Former Georgia Governor Roy Barnes, Former State Representative Louise McBee, and a host of others.
