Heidi Davison is no stranger to the rich tradition of community activism in
Athens. From education to the environment, Heidi has been active in a wide
range of issues that affect the citizens of Athens. As a long-time resident
of Athens-Clarke County, educator, community volunteer, and Mayor she has
experienced first-hand the need for local government to actively seek the
participation of all of its citizens. Heidi has leveraged her community
involvement and leadership training background in becoming Athens-Clarke
County's finest example of the practice of principled, participatory
leadership in service to her community.
Since taking office on January 7, 2003, Heidi has been serving on a variety
of committees by virtue of her elected position as mayor along with those by
invitation to represent Athens at the state and national level.
